The history of Casimiro Ristorante dal Tatini begins long before the restaurant's opening in 2019. It traces back to Casimiro Tatini, a Tuscan chef who, in 1910, opened the Antico Fattore restaurant in Florence, launching a gastronomic tradition that would span five generations of the family. Decades later, this heritage would be brought to Brazil by Fabrizio Tatini, consolidated by Mario Tatini and reinterpreted by Thiago Tatini, responsible for creating Casimiro in the iconic Santos-Augusta building, at Alameda Santos, 2159, in Jardins, São Paulo. The restaurant's very name pays homage to the family patriarch, reinforcing a narrative built on memory, hospitality and absolute respect for classical Italian gastronomy. More than a new restaurant, Casimiro emerges as the continuation of one of the most traditional families in Italian cuisine in Brazil, preserving recipes, techniques and a gastronomic culture built over more than a century.
It was in this context that SB\Design, under the creative direction of Sandro Bianco, was chosen to develop the entire visual identity of the restaurant. The challenge was to translate this centuries-old heritage into a contemporary, elegant and timeless language, capable of engaging the sophisticated audience of Jardins without losing its artisanal essence. The work of craft became the central axis of the project. Rather than resorting to conventional graphic solutions, the identity was built from a repertoire of illustrations executed with classical language, inspired by ancient treaties on European botany, zoology and gastronomy. Fish, pasta, trees, meats, poultry and desserts were drawn as editorial engravings, forming a rich and extremely versatile visual system. The typography, solid and discreet in appearance, reinforces the brand's tradition, while minimalist composition allows each illustrated element to gain prominence. This combination of graphic rigor and artisanal sensitivity made the visual identity a natural extension of the gastronomic experience offered by the restaurant.
The identity was unfolded across all brand touchpoints. Menus, napkins, institutional stationery, business cards, table materials, signage, internal applications, packaging and various graphic elements now shared a common visual language, creating a consistent experience from first contact through the dining moment. Every detail was designed to convey the sense of tradition, permanence and quality that characterizes the Tatini family. For SB\Design, this project reinforces a consolidated trajectory in developing brands for the luxury, gastronomy, hospitality and lifestyle segments. Throughout his career, Sandro Bianco has built identities for restaurants, hotels, developments and premium brands, always using design as a tool to tell stories and build long-term value. In Casimiro, this philosophy found one of its most complete expressions: an identity where branding, illustration, art direction and editorial design work in perfect harmony to translate more than a century of gastronomic tradition into a contemporary, sophisticated and memorable visual system.
